Image taken 3 January 2009 from Clayton Bay, South Australia Equipment - Takahashi TSA102S, flattener with Astro 40D camera by Central DS Guiding - ED80 with USB DMK on Takahashi EM400 mount. 4 x 15 minute subs Flats, darks and bias's applied Processed in Images Plus and Photoshop CS3 Notes - More subs are needed to get this image really smooth. Guiding was still a problem, but I am slowly getting it worked out. Information note - This horsehead nebula lies at a distance of 1500 light years. It is a dark nebula which ironically looks exactly like the head of a horse. The flame nebula which is part of this image is illuminated by the star Alnitak. |
