Image taken 25 January 2009 from Clayton Bay, South Australia Equipment - Takahashi TSA102S, flattener with Astro 40D camera by Central DS Guiding - ED80 with USB DMK on Takahashi EM400 mount. 5 x 25 minute subs Flats, darks and bias's applied Processed in Images Plus and Photoshop CS3 Notes - I decided to image just this part of the area as there are lots of interesting things to look at. I love the small globules on the left of the Horse head iteself. Information note - This horsehead nebula lies at a distance of 1500 light years. It is a dark nebula which ironically looks exactly like the head of a horse. |
